Supporting the 10 year Mortgage Strategy

The blog I posted about my 10 Year Mortgage Strategy has had some great responses. Although it is a little long-winded, admittedly, people are starting to see the big picture. Taking a Long Fixed Rate is one way to make sure you are protected against rising interest rates and potentially being one major source of securing your Financial future.

This strategy isn’t something that most/anyone has probably helped you look at in your own Financial plan but I found an article that supports what we’ve been talking about.

Check out the article here and pay attention to what is being said in regard to taking a Long term Mortgage. This is directed at some of our older generation as well so if this makes sense to you by all means hit the “share” button and send this on.

As it says in the article “We need to stay ahead of this curve”!

10 Year Mortgage Strategy

My buddy Greg is a Mortgage Professional out west. He’s one of my “go to guys” when I’m looking for advice and experience when it comes to our business. He does pretty well for himself and has been in the business for quite some time so I trust his opinion.

Last week we were chatting and he was grilling me and playing his best “devil’s advocate” role over the logic of locking into a ten-year mortgage today. See, it’s something  he and I have been suggesting for a while now but some people have been resistant. I am really thankful I have friends like this in my life. They keep me on my toes and help solidify my convictions!

After some really good conversation, I never mind a good debate from time to time,  and the back and forth point/counter point, I decided to shoot the video below for you to capture the compelling argument we created that in fact now more than ever is the best time to lock in to a 10 year mortgage. If you have watched one of my other video’s you’ll notice that’s not my voice narrating the video, it’s Greg’s.

I sincerely hope that as many people as possible see the video. I think there may be a small window, that of course can close at anytime when rates start rising. One more thing: I would really appreciate it if you would consider sharing this.  What a gift you may give to your friends and family who have mortgages that are not being actively managed and may not be connected to me and not be able to see it.

Thanks for watching and talk to you soon!

Low rates today-Higher tomorow. How to manage the change

Hey guys,

With all the talk about Canadian household debt rising, low-interest rates and Housing bubbles I thought I’d share a few videos with you regarding all of the above. I’m a true believer in working hard and smart. I am also a firm believer in not re-inventing the wheel and if someone says something and I agree and can’t make it better I might as well just share what they said!

Here are the links to the videos. They are from a particular lender but please do not confuse this with me telling you to go see them or that I am promoting them. Their information is unbiassed and concise and even they encourage you to do your homework when mortgage shopping to make sure you are in the most flexible position possible at all times. that suggestion I fully agree with which is why I will share their message with you.

Local School/Kids need your Support

Hi guys,

Read the letter below and think about how you might be able to help. My good friend is a teacher at Farley Mowat Public School in Barrhaven and is looking for help for their Read-A-Thon. Any Cash or Prize donation you offer is helpful. There is definitely a chance to promote your company locally if you are in that part of town as well. And, how can you not help Kids? Read on and get in touch with Val, the contact from the letter, and let her know how you’d love to help!

       Farley Mowat Public School

Fear Factor
Read-A-Thon 2012

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the more places you’ll go!” – Dr. Seuss

My name is Valerie Dunn and I am currently a teacher at Farley Mowat Public School in Barrhaven. On March 19th, we are launching our sixth annual Read-A-Thon here at Farley Mowat Public School. Our school opened in September 2006. We are still a “young” school but are growing very rapidly. With now almost 1000 students, both English and French speaking, we are desperately looking to purchase more science, math and language resources for our classrooms.  In order to build classrooms that accommodate the growing needs of our students and support the Ontario Curriculum, we are organizing our 6th annual Farley Mowat Read-A-Thon Fundraiser and we need your help!

Our Read-A-Thon is similar to a walk-a-thon. Students pledge to read (or be read to) a certain amount of time during the Read-A-Thon. Students then ask sponsors to pledge money to encourage them to reach their reading goals. We are extremely proud to say that last year we raised $9309.68 for our school. This year, our goal this year is to raise $10,000 and we are certain that we can do it!

As a fundraiser incentive, we are seeking prizes to offer our students. With a massive population directly from the Barrhaven area, many families in our school frequent your business. If you decide to donate to our special cause, it will provide you not only an excellent advertisement opportunity for your business but also possibly increase your number of clients from the area. That being said, the names and locations of all local business supporters will be included on the cover page of our Read-A-Thon Prize Package that will go home with all students at the closing ceremonies of this event. Tax receipts for donations may also be issued by our Board if desired.

Interested in donating? Should you be interested in supporting our annual Read-A-Thon Fundraiser, but more importantly making a difference in the lives of the wonderful students at Farley Mowat Public School, we are requesting any monetary donation that can be put towards prizes for the children that demonstrate frequent reading throughout the four weeks.

We would appreciate a response to our request at your earliest convenience. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me by email at Valerie.dunn@ocdsb.ca  or (613) 440-3469.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank your in advance for your consideration!

Miss. Dunn
